The best part of traveling is meeting people, visiting places and most importantly trying different foods. The first time we tried chicken souvlaki was when we were visiting Vancouver. The restaurant Stepho’s Souvlaki Greek Taverna was one of the highest rated restaurants on TripAdvisor. When we got there we were surprised to see how long the line was for dinner and it was only 5:00 p.m.! After several tries, this is the closest version to the chicken souvlaki we ate in Vancouver. The Tzatziki sauce is mostly served on grilled meats or as a dip in Greek and Turkish cuisine; can be served over gyros or over white rice. As with gyros, Chicken souvlaki is served over Greek bread or if you prefer to omit the bread, substitute it with a side of white rice.
